Fliptop Battles Philippines

One morning while I was in the office, a long time friend of mine Demet (a.k.a GOD DEM of Circadian Rythm and Murder Death Kill), an underground mc rapper based in antipolo message me on facebook. “Dude!Check this out”, with a link of a youtube video. I check the page and view FLIPTOP BATTLE LEAGUE (FUEGO VS. PROTEGE). Knowing it’s a rap battle and I’m a metalhead so obviously, I’m not really into rap music. But still I got curious and watch the video and wow! This is really entertaining to me watching two guys dissing each other through rap. Both rappers are sick and man, lines after lines the crowd are just gettin wild, they are really enjoying watching these rap mcs dissing each other about their styles, rhytms even their clothing at the moment. One line from Protege “We’re going to play checkers on your fuckin shirt!” pertaining to Fuego’s long sleeved red and black checkered shirt.

Protege won the battle on the overtime and shoot!I just want to see more and watching Fliptop has been my past time since then. Yes!I myself a huge heavy metal fan is one of the millions who have been waiting to see more and more from Fliptop Channel. Actually since I left the homeland to work in the emirates I have no idea whos new and the sickest heavy metal band in the country, the fact is because of Fliptop I knew more Pinoy Rappers now than Pinoy Metalheads to date.

As months go by since february last year, Fliptop is gettin more popular and supporters are getting MASSIVE!In fact even Dirtbag Dan, a rap battle vet from Grind Time, a well known rap battle league in the US took a short visit to manila to battle Fliptop founder Anygma, from the rap groups AMPON and Talksic Ways. Unfortunately for him, Anygma threw lines that are based from REALITY and did’nt attack him using typical toilet jokes, shitass faces, racism and all that stuff that we are hearing and laughing at over and over again. He failed to counter those FACTUAL ISSUES Anygma threw at him. Anygma took a unanimous win over Dirtbag Dan but still, he’s one of the best rap battle mcs of this generation and my praises to him for the effort and positive comments about his visit to our homeland.
